Love the Life You Live, Live the Life You Love

At first our dreams seem impossible, then they seem improbable, but when we summon the will, they become inevitable.”

-Christopher Reeve

Are you living the life of your dreams? Are you leaping out of bed every morning, ready to seize the day and enjoy the journey called your life? Or are you dragging your heels, feeling resigned and unfulfilled in your business or your life?

Liberate Your Soul through GLOW

I’ve had so many conversations with people looking for that magic bullet outside of themselves to fix the pain in their lives. Truth be told, there is no magic bullet. In order to get to where you want to go, it takes hunger-hunger for change, to stand in your truth and to get off being “RIGHT” about your beliefs and assumptions. Hunger to be authentic and to live a much bigger life in which you can see, feel and own your gifts, and then contribute them to humanity.

Experience Freedom in 2017!

I hear so many of my healing clients and voice students yearning for freedom in their life. They have freedom as a value in their life but somehow are not fully embodying that value. They are, in a nutshell… Stuck.

I talk a lot about this in my latest blog entry on How to experience freedom by setting your authentic self free.

Authenticity is often underrated. It’s more than being honest with the world or speaking your mind. It’s about being honest with yourself and who you are and how you are being. There are many advantages to being authentic. Most importantly, you’ll no longer feel the need to change your words and actions to impress others. Being in authentic is EXHAUSTING! What other people think of you is none of your business. You can relax and be yourself.

Before you can be completely authentic, it’s important to know yourself. Who are you really? You need to develop a certain level of self-awareness. This includes clarity around your values and goals. This also includes developing a relationship with your higher self. Developing communication with your inner self and tuning into your body consciously on a regular basis. Authenticity becomes possible when you know what’s truly important to you as a person and as a spirit.

The first steps to take to experience freedom by setting your authentic self free are:

  1. Give up the need to appear perfect. When you don’t need to appear perfect, you’re in the position to be honest. If you are spending to much time thinking about this you are in your head or listening to you negative ego. If you are in your heart and doing what is authentic you are not hiding or covering up anything. You are transparent. No one can be perfect and honest at the same time. Avoid putting on a show for the rest of the world. You’ll only feel bad about yourself later. It’s okay to be less than spectacular. Be the best at being yourself.
  2. Know your values and live by them. If you know your core values and live by them consistently, you’re already doing well in the authenticity department. More importantly I want you to embody your values. When you are congruent with the energies or your values you actually begin to emit those energies to others. You can only do this my writing them down and referring back to them on a regular basis. Make it part of your daily practice. For myself some of my values include: Freedom, Self-Expression, Creativity, Light-heartedness, Love, Authenticity, Compassion, desire to learn and my list goes on….
  3. Notice when you’re not being authentic. It’s not easy to be authentic all the time. You might find yourself transforming based on the situation. A first date is a good example. Or going into a networking event trying to size up a new group. Are you being authentic or pretending to be someone you’re not? Are you able to share what you are about or do you clam up?

Give some serious thought to the tips above if you are ready to experience freedom by setting your authentic self free. Be willing to look deeply inside and know that you are the only one who can make the changes you desire to free yourself. Giving Back to Make a Difference  One Child at a Time

benita-ibrahim-digital-image-6Years ago, I was having girls’ night out with friends to have fun and catch up. We went to dinner and a movie. While in line to purchase movie tickets, we noticed that two young men further up in line kept looking back at us. It appeared that they were talking about us.

Having the Right Follow-Up Attitude Makes a Difference for Your Clients

linda-basso-print-image-6Recently, I ran into a woman who is part of my networking group. I mentioned that I was interested in one of her upcoming classes that she had shared in a recent meeting. The next morning, there was an email from her saying how nice it was to see me, details on her class and a link to sign up if I’d like. As a marketer, I was delighted and impressed. As a potential client, I felt gratitude.

Are You WILLING to Leap?

leap-i-can-and-i-willAre you willing to leap? Notice I did not ask you if you are READY to Leap, but rather, are you WILLING? One of my mentors, Caterina Rando, always says “don’t wait until you’re ready, act when you’re willing.” This has always struck a chord with me because we are rarely ready to take the leap, or put ourselves out there in a big way, stepping out of our comfort zones, in order to get to where we want to be, but we have to be willing. It’s like parenthood, no one is ever ready and 100% prepared before their little ones arrive, but they are willing (and super excited!) to take the leap into parenthood.

In life and business, if we wait until we are totally prepared before we launch a program, make those phone calls, start an exercise program or write that novel, our lives will pass us by and before we know it, it will be too late.

Staying in our comfort zone can be comfortable, and it can also get really uncomfortable for those of us who are being called to something bigger. When you’re getting ready to face a fear, ask yourself, “What choice am I going to make right now? And I going to move forward and take a leap, getting closer to my dreams, or am I going to hold back and stay where I am? If I chose to stay where I am, what could I be missing out on?”

I want to challenge you this week to take the leap and build your wings on the way down. Yes, it’s scary! Yes, you will have to step out of your comfort zone. Yes, you will grow your business and change your life!

What’s more important to you-staying safe in your comfort zone, or having a thriving, incredible life? So, if you’re with me, I want you to decide which mountain you want to tackle first, step up to the edge, take a giant leap and flap like crazy on the way down. I’ve chosen my mountain, stepped up to the edge, jumped and am flap, flap, flapping.
Which leap will you take?

Happy People Inspire More Happy People!

lee-richter-print-image-6When we share happiness, we get happier. It is contagious, like laughing at a funny joke. When we are happier in life, we are 31 percent more productive, have 37 percent higher sales, and are 300 percent more creative. Just think, when you’re at Best Buy, you want to purchase that TV from the happy guy, not the grumpy one. It’s just natural to gravitate toward people who are happy.

Create a profitable Business as a Vehicle to Give Back

1934812-1Many heart-based solo entrepreneurs struggle with money. Somewhere back in their mind, there is a thought that something is wrong with being successful and super profitable. Consider “flipping it.” What if you are just exactly the best person to earn a huge profit? I believe you are the most likely to support your community with your abundance. Have you considered using your wildly profitable business as the vehicle to give back to your community? How does that feel?

My grandmother and grandfather first taught me about giving back to community. Although my grandmother did not work, she was the community-service arm for the family business. She often hosted fundraisers and attended many more. My grandfather introduced me to the concept of the tithe. This is the idea of providing one tenth of income to good works.

Take a moment to envision what you would do to support your community? Even if you feel you are surviving, these actions will move you towards thriving. Once you feel abundant, you can share it with others. Giving to others can make a difference to your community, your state, the world. If you are not sure where to start, consider these areas.

Taking any of these actions can make an impact.
#1 – Gratitude
Appreciate the small things all around you. Gratitude for what you have will inspire you to share with others.
#2 – Time
Investing your time is also a wonderful way to share your gifts and make a difference to others around you.
#3- Money
Taking action in the first two areas often improves the flow of money to you. Begin to give generously to your community, whether it’s local or global as your income grows.

Summary:
Giving to others even in small ways makes a big difference to those around you. All of us impact the world by taking small steps. It will ripple out far beyond your action whether time or money. What step can you take today?

What Does It Mean to ‘Be Content?’

woman-1030920_1920“Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”

The above quotation is from Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher writing in the 6th century BCE, and the presumed founder of Taoism and author of the Tao Te Ching. When I read this saying, I think how very similar this message is to the message we have been writing about for several months now: the Sign of Enough and knowing clearly the answer to the question “how will I know when I have enough?” We have had many years to learn this, and many of us seem to be on the path, just awakening to it, or available for the message any time now. Because it is time.

There are many things to fuss and fume about. There is the political situation in the United States about which many of us are in real despair. There is the current and growing economic inequality in this country. There is the fact of the deep racial prejudice, which recently and rightly has been thrust into the forefront of our attention. There is the seemingly constant assault on our environment and our on-going two steps forward and one step back approach to solving some of the problems. There are the myriad serious difficulties around the world including the constant threat of terrorism, the heart rending refugee crises with no win-win answers, ancient border, ethnic and religious disputes. The list seems endless.

In the midst of all this, how can we, with Lao Tzu, “rejoice in the way things are?” Does doing so seem at best childish and irresponsible? I think not. I think adding to the sense of woe accomplishes nothing, and, at least for me, makes me feel completely impotent. From that place, I can take no action. As the teacher Abraham says, “you can’t get sick enough to make sick people well.”

What if instead we stop, take stock, and realize we can “be content with what (we) have and realize there is nothing lacking?” When I breathe deeply and repeat those words, I can feel a deep sense of peace seeping through my body. I can feel a relaxation, an opening that makes it possible for me to attend to the messages arising that sound something like “I know what I can do!” From that place where I know I have everything I need and nothing is lacking, I can open to “OK. THAT is enough. I am going to step forward and take this action.”

That is what happens for me. During this next month I invite you to come back over and over to the saying from Lao Tzu and discover where it takes you. It may be similar to my experience or it may be completely different. Whatever happens, it is exactly the right thing, and, if noted, can lead you to something important.
