What are you tolerating that is keeping you stuck?

Often in business we keep our focus on the things that are the most important: serving our clients, making sales, or paying bills. Because we put our energy toward the most important tasks, we sometimes inadvertently put up with things that are not ideal.

Marketing and Sales: A Love Story

Are you in love with your business? How about your clients? Your team?

Most entrepreneurs are deeply creative beings who long to serve others. Business requires us to constantly expand in areas that we don’t always love, like “marketing,” “conversions,” and, the dreaded, “sales.”

The way I see it, business is a love relationship. Our clients give us the opportunity to earn a living by serving them. Of course we love them. We just aren’t always clear about how to reach them.

Good marketing means:

  • Knowing who your ideal client is and not allowing yourself to spend time with people you are not here to help
  • Listening to your clients’ needs so you know exactly what they are struggling with
  • Letting your potential clients know that you are committed to partnering with them to generously create solutions together

If your marketing is done well and you establish caring relationships with your ideal clients, the sales will literally close themselves.

Your job is to provide solutions to problems. In the sales process, you only get to the solution when you have earned somebody’s trust. To earn that trust you must do a little warmup; a little marketing.

When you focus on solving another person’s problem in a unique way, marketing and sales become a joyful dance you welcome each day in your business.

Sales and marketing are essential to every female entrepreneur to launch or grow her business. You can use blogs to help promote your business and give value to build relationships with future prospects.  The best part is that it’s free marketing and if you do it right, you can maximize each blog to reach prospects in multiple places. This article shares a few tips to get you started and is the first of two articles. The second blog covers how to make your blog into a multi-purpose vehicle to increase your social media exposure.

Quick Note: there are slight differences between blogs and articles, for example the length, 1500 or less words vs. 1500 or more words; 1st person vs. 3rd person; and the tone, scholarly vs. relationship. My writings are more of a combination, perhaps a “blarticle,” but for the purpose of this message, I will use blog and article synonymously.

Three Powerful Ways to Use Social Media to Collaborate

shareSocial media was never intended to replace person-to-person interaction. It is a powerful way to collaborate with strategic partners to grow relationships that turn into clients. Here are three ways to do this.

Find Strategic Partners and Share Each Other’s Content
Strategic partners are people who have the same target market as you but sell something different. An example would be a chiropractor and a dentist, or a business coach and a bookkeeper. Here’s an example of how this would work:

Let’s say a business coach is working with entrepreneurs, helping them grow their businesses and she knows her clients generally need a bookkeeper. The business coach would find a bookkeeper who is active on social media. They would meet, share ideas, get to know each other and make an agreement to share one another’s posts. This is a very powerful collaboration and for both people.
