Do YOU have Social Currency?

For this discussion Social Currency is defined as “Whatever You exchange to gain status in a Social Environment”.

In today’s hectic world it is a challenge to even contemplate the thought of doing more. The schedule is already bursting at the seams with Family and Business not to mention a good night’s sleep. What’s a gal to do? Here are 5 Simple Steps that will help increase Your Social Currency.

#1 – PURPOSE – Go back to the beginning of when You first answered this question; ”What are You and Your Business in a unique position to offer?”  Use Emotions to Answer this question for Your Target Client. (There is a reason that the Books for “Dummies” are so popular. No one wants to be Dumb). Everyone wants to have something of VALUE to share. Provide VALUE – SOLUTIONS linking to Emotions and You create Interest.

#2 – CONSISTENCY – Social Space is Noisy – Hectic – Congested. Make it easy for others to Recognize and Remember You – BRAND – Your Product – Your Service. All of Your Social Media (SM) needs to be Clear and Concise. Your Picture – Your Message need to be CONSISTENT to insure that each one is telling the same story. Determine this by evaluating each of Your SM sites. Are they Consistent? If not, make the necessary adjustments.

#3 – Keep it SIMPLE – Our lives and our Businesses are Complicated. Focus on what is the easiest, the simplest way to convey Your Message. Spotlight on What is Important – What Solutions YOU provide that will make their Life easier. Ask and Answer WHY Your Target Client would be better off with YOU – Your Product – Your Service? Infomercial Ads have a very Successful Model; they show the Product and DEMONSTRATE why it makes the Viewer’s life easier. Do the same and keep it SIMPLE.

#4 – BE VISIBLE – Utilize the myriad of SM Platforms; Facebook – Twitter- Pinterest – Blogs – LinkedIn to Engage others in Conversations. Have a Schedule whereby you have a uniform plan of When You are Visible and Interacting on SM. Continue to Engage in Conversations on a consistent basis. Having a strong 5 out of 7 day schedule is most effective. You are already a busy person so if it is on the Calendar You know it will get done. Plan – Plan – Plan

#5 – LOYALTY – The SM Community is searching for Individuals – Products – Services that are Authentic and create Excitement. People want to be part of something Cool – “The next Big Thing”.

Doing so, enables Your Community to not only Interact with You but to continue the Dialogue with their Community. Ask Yourself; “Are You sharing Content that is Significant OR are You being a Door to Door Salesperson?” Consider having one goal in mind when You are Visible on SM and that is to get others Curious enough to visit Your Website – Blog – LinkedIn Profile. Where there is a Clear and Detailed Representation of Your Service or Product.

Consider having 80% of Your Interaction as making DEPOSITS. The other 20% WITHDRAWALS. A Deposit is not asking for anything in return whereas a Withdrawal is asking for something. Get creative on Items – Content – Information that You Share. This will help to generate LOYALTY as Your Community will know You are Genuine. Everyone who participates in Social Networks – Websites – Digital Communes – Tweets is hanging a Sign or Shingle out on the Internet Highway. Thus, an ON LINE IDENTITY is formed.

Creating – Connecting – Conversing – Collaborating will all amplify Your Sphere of Influence all of which converts into YOUR SOCIAL CURRENCY!
