How to Use YouTube to Promote Your Women’s Events and Retreats

YouTube_redYouTube is one of the most powerful ways to promote your women’s retreats and events. Potential attendees can see your face, hear your voice, and see your body language. From this, they can have a little taste of what it would be like to spend more time with you.

Think About Strategy
Making a good video takes longer than writing a tweet or a Facebook post, so you’ll want to start earlier if you’re going to use YouTube to market your event. Have a high-level strategy about how many videos you’ll have, what the subject matter will be, and where you’ll put the videos. Once you record the videos, you can embed them on your website, tweet about them, or send your YouTube link to people in email.

Set up a Branded Channel
Use the same name and image on your YouTube account as you do on your other social media channels. You want people to be able to recognize that they’re in the right place, so use similar colors and wording on your channel, too.

Create Playlists
Link each of your videos to the next one in a playlist, which works even better if you have a series of short videos. Think about how Netflix works: when you finish one show, within 15 seconds the next show in the series begins. You can use the same strategy!

During the Event
To generate excitement, create video moments that you post to YouTube during the event. Consider live streaming your event and charging people who can’t make it in person to your event. Many large conferences do this, and there’s no reason that you can’t, too, as long as you have someone dedicated to the job.

After the Event
If you’re creating women’s retreats regularly, then you can begin to promote the moment the retreat is over by using footage from your event and showing women what a great time they’ll have at your next event!

Be sure to include these ideas in your over all event marketing strategy and you will find that you are gaining followers, creating more visibility for your event and attracting some new fabulous clients as well.
