Elisabeth Stitt, Joyful Parenting Coaching

What is your mission for your business?

The mission of Joyful Parenting Coaching is to make a world where children thrive by supporting parents in being joyful, confident leaders of their family. I do that by focusing on clarity, communication, connection and consistency while weaving through a lot of playfulness and fun.

What is one super tip that you’d like to share with other women in business?

Trust that you are planting seeds with every action you take, even if you don’t know when the results will sprout.

What makes you a Thriving Woman in Business?

I show up over and over and persist despite obstacles, always looking for the most effective way to transform parents and families.

What is one lesson you have learned as a Thriving Woman in Business?

I am learning more and more that for me at least, finding the fun in whatever I am trying to accomplish is key to keeping me in action.

What have you gained from being a part of the Thriving Woman in Business Community?

I am so grateful to TWIB for motivation, accountability, friendship and inspiration. There is so much goodness to squeeze out, and it just keeps getting better!

How are you or your company engaged in giving/community support?

I sell Joyful Parenting socks and give all the proceeds to the First Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley. Food insecurity in our local community means all kinds of kids are showing up unable to focus on learning. It feels so good to send a check off to Second Harvest and to know I am making a regular difference.

One of my mottos is that with structure comes freedom. Caterina would say with Strategy comes freedom. Anyway, that’s why when it comes to favorite parenting techniques, Family Meetings are in my top three. My free Family Meeting ebook lays out 4 Steps to Harmony and Calm lays out a time-tested way to run those meetings.

“One thing I believe about all parents is that in any one moment they are doing the best they can. At the same time, I know that parenting is a skill that can be taught, learned and practiced and that with training and support good parents can be even more effective.”  -Elisabeth Stitt
