Fall fashion is always a breath of fresh air. Seeing the arrival of knee-high boots and cozy knits is a welcome 
break from the flip-flops and tank tops of summer. While leather, peplum, brocade, and oxblood (don’t worry, it’s just a color!) might seem risky to try out in the office—fear not! Here’s some easy ways to incorporate this season’s trends into last week’s office.
Trend 1: Rich Leather
The key to making leather work in the office is the color. Keep in mind that a chestnut brown will look sophisticated, while anything dark, like black leather, is going to look like an outfit for a rock concert. Don’t let this scare you, though! Make a statement with this trend by wearing it in your skirt. Pair it with a silky button up, textured heels, and a patent oxblood satchel for a chic, put-together look.
Trend 2: Pop of Peplum
Let this be your new power suit. Peplum works here because it’s in combination with a great dress shape. The 
length of the dress and the long sleeves create the perfect balance of conservatism, trendiness, and shape. It’s hard to go wrong with this dress, but when it’s worn with oxblood pumps and a really smart briefcase, it’s a showstopper, in or out of the conference room.
Trend 3: Luxe Brocade
The great thing about brocade is its versatility. There are so many different sheens, patterns and colors out there that you can find just what you’re looking for, depending on how muted or bold you want to go. With their length and color, they are perfectly work appropriate; but, you’ll still be blowing away all of your coworkers with your sleek and outgoing style. And when the print is balanced out with a neutral tank and classic-cut blazer, the focus becomes the outfits as a whole, not just the trouser. Throw on some oxblood kitten heels and glasses and await the emails (and compliments). Then, lose the jacket after work and you’re ready for happy hour!
