Meet Innovative Woman Annie Goni-Stewart, Managing Director of eWomenNetwork – Reno/Carson/Tahoe Chapter
How and why did you begin your business?
I started my medical-legal transcription service in 1984 so I could work from home and take care of my children (infants at the time).
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
Setting boundaries and saying no. After 25 years in business, I can now finally allow calls to go to voicemail and I consider time constraints before I agree to attend an event or volunteeer my time.
How do you define SUCCESS?
Success is knowing I am surrounded by people who love and support me and then being able to share that bounty with others.
If there was one thing you wish you knew before you began your business, what would that be?
You don’t have to be available 24/7 for your clients to fall in love with you.
What makes you an innovative woman?
After 29 years running my transcription business, I stepped out of my “comfort zone” and I took on the position of Managing Director for eWomenNetwork in Reno. I am so happy to be able to serve the female business community and am committed to helping businesswomen in our area promote and grow their businesses.
