Thriving Woman Spotlight: Susan M. Davis

Susan is a hippie boomer artist, co-creation outlier, Silicon Valley escapee, channeling Guy Kawasaki and Terry Gross for decades. She “retired” to the Sierra Foothills seven years ago, which means she’s “ReINSPIRED” as an entrepreneur and mentor to Women Creatives. She believes in doing well by doing good. For several decades she has integrated her passions and talents in the areas of design, fine art, writing, audio/video production, and business/marketing development into philanthropic projects promoting inclusion, compassion, and common humanity by communicating Story through multi-media arts.

Susan M. Davis, The CoCreation Community

What is your mission for your business?

To help women Creatives and emerging entrepreneurs develop an online presence so that their creative endeavors or purposeful businesses are seen, and their voices heard, resulting in more visibility, influence, and abundance flowing to them.

What is one super tip that you’d like to share with other women in business?

Everyone is excellent or even genius at something, and barely competent in something else. CoCreation allows us to work and play together and emphasize our strengths while others fill in where we have weaknesses. This makes business and life fun, and this is how we all can succeed—together. Aristotle said, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”, and he was right!

What makes you a Thriving Woman in Business?

I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 50 years. I love business, marketing, mentoring, and supporting other women in business, especially the amazing women in this community.

What is one lesson you have learned as a Thriving Women in Business?

It’s ALL about relationships and COMMUNITY. The more we give, the more we get.

What have you gained from being a part of the Thriving Women in Business Community?

I’ve gained so many success tips, great contacts for collaborators, and made some wonderful connections and friends.

How are you or your company engaged in giving/community support?

With the Thriving Women In Business Community: I support other members by using their services/products whenever possible, attending their workshops and events, and supporting them in social media. I also contribute to the philanthropic causes TWIB supports, as well as those that members support.
I also am the Co-Founder of a philanthropic project called “Voices of Our Story—Shifting Perceptions;Bridging Divides”, now in its 6th year. This project is focused on shifting perceptions toward inclusion and taking compassionate action toward marginalized groups: homeless folks, LGBTQ, people of color, etc. https://a-place-to-call-home.org
I’ve also been an active member of Together Women Rise (formerly Dining for Women) for the past 5 years.
