How much is too much in email marketing?

One of my goals is to get really good at email marketing because building a list of ideal clients is one of the fastest and best ways to build a community that trusts and loves you and wants to buy your stuff.email icon

But, I struggle with that fine line of providing valuable content vs. how much is too much?

I currently have 37,779 emails on my inbox. I’m not kidding. And, I guarantee you 95% are emails I’ve subscribed to. It’s totally stressing me out! Some I subscribed to because I took a webinar or wanted the free report and have gotten a lot of value from the ongoing content. Others turned out to be sales pitches that never end.

A few days ago, I got this from one of the lists I’m on. I’ve removed the identifying information, but I’m curious if you think this is the best way to get/keep subscribers?

The subject line is: Should I keep inviting you?

You’re on my list (presumably) because you want to get tips on how to attract more clients and grow your business, right?

Yet when I offer to share with you some of my best marketing strategies you don’t even open my emails… What gives?

Seriously – should I stop inviting you?

If you’re lost as to what I’m talking about – it’s because you missed my previous two emails… Just look for them in your inbox:

Email 1 Subject: “New – how to accelerate to six figures a month…”

Email 2 Subject: “Is it really possible to make 6-figues a month? Every month?”

OR, if you want a shortcut, go to this page for info and register:

It’s about my brand new webinar where I’ll teach you how to:

>> Create an unlimited flow of high-end clients.
>> Create offers that command higher fees.
>> Grow your business while actually working less.

You know – only the kind of stuff every business owner and entrepreneur should want to know! wink emoticon

Go ahead – look at the details and register now. (It’s free.)

Meanwhile – here’s to your success… Cheers!

P.S. I’m about to send you a bunch really high-quality content on the latest marketing stuff we’re doing that’s working like crazy.

But if you’re not opening my emails – we’ll not do that…

P.P.S. Just so you understand… When I send you emails that you don’t read, it actually impacts all my readers because it negatively impacts my email deliverability… (Can you say guilt trip???)

Anyway… If you’re reading this, check out my webinar…

P.P.P.S. If for some crazy reason you no longer want to get my emails (and you want to miss out on some of the best information available on growing your business I’ll be sending out) just stop my emails for good (use the unsubscribe link below).

It will be your loss, but it’s totally OK with me… wink emoticon

End of email

So, what do you think? Am I wrong that this gives me a bad taste and I don’t want to be like this? Let me know what you think in the comments.
