How Improving Your Health Improves Your Bottom Line

Health, Tranformation, Imagine living healthier and increasing your bottom line so that you can have more time and money freedom to do the things you love to do?

As a wellness coach for women in their fifties, I hear it all the time, “I know my health is important and I know need to find time to make myself a priority, but I just have so much to do.” Frankly, with ALL that you have going on in your personal and professional life, “finding” the time to do anything of importance is often no easy task. The truth of the matter is that you have to “make” the time. We business owners know that what gets scheduled gets done (well most of the time).

Your clients need you to be at your absolute best. Will you start making your wellness a priority? Your clients are counting on you. Your family is counting on you. YOU are counting on you.

Get started here:

  1. SLEEP
Most people need 7.5-8.5 hours of sleep per night to function at their best. Those who sleep well make fewer mistakes when they work and are less likely to crave unhealthy foods throughout the day. Not only will your performance and efficiency improve in your business, but you’ll make more money because you’ll feel your best and do your best work.
Transformation Tip: Start shutting down your brain earlier each night by dimming the lights and shutting down your electronics. (That includes your laptop! Most, if not all of those emails can wait until tomorrow.)
  2. FOOD
Eating high quality, nutritious foods helps prevent energy dips throughout the day and helps you feel GREAT. When you feel your best, you perform at your best, whether that be on stage in front of an audience or one-on-one as you coach a client. Eating healthy is very, very important to your bottom line.
Transformation Tip: Throw away the soda (yes, especially the diet soda) and drink more water. In fact, drink ½ of your body weight in ounces and add a small pinch of Celtic sea salt, which will help you avoid cramps and allow your brain to function at its best.
  3.  MOOD
High stress increases the hormone cortisol, which depresses the immune system and shortens your life. Carrying around low stress and positive emotions do the exact opposite. Less sick days and a longer, healthier life lead to an increased bottom line over time.
Transformation Tip: You can’t give from an empty cup. You give so much to your clients, but are you giving to YOU? What’s one thing you can do each day to “recharge” or “fill your cup”?
  4. EXERCISE
Do I need to even mention ALL the benefits of exercise? How about just the fact that it greatly improves your confidence, while helping you look and feel better. I get my best ideas when I’m exercising and those feel-good hormones are rushing through my body and brain allowing huge boosts of creativity. Warning: Your next BIG business idea could come while you’re working out!
Transformation Tip: I frequently combine exercise with personal development. I’m always reading between 2-3 books at a time, so I like to kill two birds with one stone by listening to audiobooks while exercising. One can’t help but feel AWESOME after challenging your body while feeding your mind.

How are you doing in these four areas? If they’re not where you know they could be, make a commit today by scheduling time into each day to improve your wellness.

Here’s one more Transformation Tip to make sure you get started right:
Just like you want to set your clients up for success, I want that for you too in the area of your Sleep, Food, Mood, and Exercise. Rather than trying to fix what’s wrong, build on what’s already going right. In other words, don’t start with the hardest area for you, the one that you’ve been struggling with for a long time. Instead, ask yourself what area would be EASIEST for you to make a change and start there TODAY.
