3 Profit Producing Steps Every Business Owner Must Take To Move Their Business to the Next Level

Being a solopreneur I know firsthand how difficult it can be to always be the only go to person. Long days of uncertainty lead to even longer nights of shoulda, coulda, woulda’s. In the early days of owning my own business I experienced a lot of long nights and frankly, confusing days. I struggled with a lot of “stuff” but mostly I felt isolated AND CONFUSED. I explored traditional networking with the local chamber of commerce, and exclusive women’s groups but still I wasn’t feeling the support I needed and I couldn’t seem to launch my business to the next level until I used the 3 things I am sharing with you right here!

Here are the 3 STEPS TO TAKE TO PRODUCE CONSISTENT PROFITS:

  1. ACTION
  2. BRAINSTORMING
  3. COMPANIONS

#1 Action.
Einstein once said, “nothing happens until something moves” and the law of inertia, states that “a body in motion tends to remain in motion, a body at rest tends to remain at rest.” I think it obvious to all of us that without action we cannot produce anything. What may not be quite so clear is how to produce inspired action on a consistent basis. It’s very easy to feel resignation and frustration especially when you are faced with doing everything yourself. One very simple way to create inspired action on a daily basis is to develop a deeper connection with your feelings. Your thoughts are your feelings in form and before you can have a thought you must first have a feeling. Let me explain in more detail. When someone asks you how you are feeling today do you take the time to LITERALLY check inside yourself, or do you give a generic, quick answer. I know as a heart inspired person you try to be mindful to connect but the reality is life is busy and often you don’t connect as deeply as you could. I would say the same is true when it comes to making decisions in your business. Next time you find yourself staring at a blank computer screen, or in conflict with what idea to trust connect to your feelings and develop a relationship with your own inner wisdom.

  • Drop inside..identify what you are struggling with
  • Label it with a word, a phase or an image that feels comfortable and recognizable to you
  • Observe exactly what you are feeling with reference to the word and where you are feeling it in your body. Once you locate it take time to sit with it
  • Quietly talk to the sensation just as you would you best friend..open up to the concept of acceptance, acceptance of what is going on inside of you. Don’t try to chase it away or redefine it, simply allow it to be part of you
  • Sit back and let the resolution or the brilliance unfold.

#2 Brainstorming
How many ideas do you have that never come to fruition? Maybe you are struggling to have ideas? Is there a stagnation happening in your business because of a lack of innovation or creation? A great way to grow your business is to brainstorm, to think out of the box. I love the saying you can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it. I have found that being part of a brainstorming session creates the energy I need to propel me into a mindset that brings about much needed freshness and rejuvenates my soul. After a powerful brainstorming session I feel like all of my senses are heightened and all I see are possibilities! Finding the right dynamic to brainstorm in is extremely important. Here are the must have’s to create a productive brainstorming session:

  • A non judgmental space
  • People who are willing to respectfully challenge you to grow
  • An open mind
  • A willingness to be with the discomfort that might arise
  • A willingness to take inspired action within 24 hours of session

#3 Companions
Everywhere you go there you are is one of my favorite sayings. Translation.you can only take who you are to all of your relationships and you will only ever see what you can see in yourself in others; consciously or otherwise. This saying reminds me to check in with myself and those I surround myself with on a regular basis in order to make sure I am being who I say I am. When you decide exactly who you are and how you want to show up in life you will begin to attract like minded people into your life. All people need to connect with other people. It’s the craving of the soul to relate to others in a way that empowers and inspires you to be exactly who you are. In the business world as solopreneur’s having companions to inspire you, motivate you, and engage you is vital to the success of your business. Finding the right companions can make a huge impact on our professional and personal lives. Remember we attract who we it’s time to get up close and personal with you! It’s time for a self inventory to see what we are carrying around and projecting. Here are a few simple ideas to help with this process.

  • Be aware of your strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes
  • Observe and be aware of your moods, reactions and responses to what is happening around you
  • Observe how you interact with others
  • Observe how your environment affects you and what you allow in your environment
