Stop Waiting for Ready!

Recognize the limited thinking that is holding you and your business back.

Have you ever heard a friend say to you “I am not ready”. Have you ever said that to yourself as you considered moving forward to do something new like your own product launch, tele-summit or Google Hangout? Here is what I want you to know—waiting for ready is a myth. If you are waiting for ready to show up, your wait will be long and ready may never show up. You are never fully ready to give your first speech, or workshop or lead your first webinar until after it is done.

When you tell yourself you are not ready, you are choosing to hold yourself and your business back. “I am not ready” is a lie we tell ourselves when we are not willing to be uncomfortable or put in the extra effort, or risk failure, unpopularity or the possible disapproval of others.

Stop waiting for it. The only way ready happens is when you make a decision and then get going. It is only in the doing of something that you actually get ready. I recall that when I decided to do my first two-day live event, I experienced a heavier kind of anxiety then ever before. I worked harder than I could ever recall.  When the event was over, I felt so good about all the value I delivered, was proud of myself for going for it and recognized I had just expanded my business into a whole new arena of service. Plus with each event that followed things got easier and easier. That is an important part of the equation to remember, the more you do something the easier it gets, then it gets easy and then you move toward mastery and that is the real goal: mastery.

Note that if you are experiencing anxiety and fear that does not mean you are not ready, it just means that you are doing something new, outside your comfort zone or presenting yourself in a new way and the apprehension or concern is what happens when you start to bust through to something new.

When you take steps forward even when you do not feel you are ready, new opportunities, energy, skills and resources will appear to support you. If you are willing to be uncomfortable, and not wait for ready you will expand your business and your revenue and serve a lot more people. It is time to watch yourself, amaze yourself.
