Meet Innovative Woman Kathryn Starke an urban elementary school literacy expert, reading consultant, author, and the founder of Creative Minds Publications, LLC, a global literacy based educational company.
How and why did you start your business?
I started my business while I teaching second grade to motivate children, support parents, and inspire teachers to love literacy.
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge has definitely been proving myself as a literacy specialist despite my age. I now work most often with new and future teachers and young women dedicated to education.
How do you define SUCCESS?
I define success when the children, parents, and educators I work with achieve their reading goals and are successful themselves.
If there was one thing you wish you knew before you began, what would that be?
Wow! I feel like I’m learning every single day. I definitely wish I knew how powerful social media really is today.
What makes you an innovative woman?
I am an innovative woman because I went from the classroom to a corporation to serve fellow women that are mothers, teachers, and leaders.
