New Year, New You!

New Year's ResolutionsJanuary always reminds me of a fun, fresh start. I always love coming up with New Year’s resolutions. I write down all of the fun things I want to do, like travel plans, and also what I would like to achieve in my business and personal life. Every few months, I look at my ideas to see if what I thought I wanted is what I am actually achieving and being.

The holidays are always crazy. Often times we get out of balance and put our health on the back burner. Now is the perfect time to re-focus on you and your health.

What are some things you appreciate about yourself? Write down what first comes to you. Now write down some things you would like to improve and accomplish this year.

Is your health on this list? Think about how you are taking care of you and your health. With support you can reach all of your health and lifestyle goals. Here are some quick and easy ways you can get back to YOU this year.

1. Schedule In Exercise
Give exercise a time slot in your calendar. Once you commit to working out you are already shifting the mindset and are more apt to make it a priority and go. Over time exercise becomes something you look forward to instead of dreading. If you are still not excited, try to think of what you enjoy doing, is it walking/hiking or yoga? Whatever it is, do it more often and have fun with it.

2. Plan Meals
Never go to the grocery store hungry! You will leave with a huge bill and items you will never eat. Plan your weekly meals before you head to the store and write a list. This will save you time at the store and less headaches during the week.  Extra Tip! Post the weekly menu on the fridge to avoid the, What are we having for dinner questions!

3. Eat For Energy
Almonds and oranges are perfect foods to help keep your energy levels up! If you are losing steam try to add them into your diet. If you are crashing every day around 3 p.m. and searching for chocolate or caffeine, add in more greens to your lunch to help energize your body.

4. Listen To Your Body
Learn how to say no. If you feel like you are being pulled into too many directions learn what your limits are and by okay expressing them. If that means you need a day to recharge take the time to take care of you. This is the most important thing you should be doing on a daily basis, check in with yourself. How are you feeling? Are your food choices nourishing you? Do you need more down time? Take time to listen to you and indulge in what you really need.
