Success Inhibiting Syndromes that Affect Women Entrepreneurs Part Two

This is part two of a three-part article series designed to help you identify syndromes of dysfunction in how you operate and how if untreated it can cause serious problems in your business.

Review these syndromes. Awareness is the first step to addressing what ailing you and your business. Follow the recommended treatment to support you in realizing all your goals.

I Am Oblivious to the Truth Syndrome
Key Indicators: As long as there is money in the bank or space before your credit card limit, you figure your business is doing fine. You do not pay much attention to revenue in or revenue out, because you do not want to face the truth, as it is difficult. You avoid facing your finances or another challenging situation in your business.

Recommended Treatment: Know that successful businesswomen pay attention to their numbers and face business difficulties. Realize that the more you pay attention to your numbers, the more they improve. Know that numbers do not lie and the more you know, the more you can plan what to do to get you where you want to be.

I Am So Busy Syndrome
Key Indicators: When you are working with a constant feeling of pressure to get things done. When you are doing everything. When you feel like you are working hard and not getting ahead.

Recommended Treatment: Review your priorities and see if you have too much on your plate. Take some things off your plate. Do not put anything else on it. Get more support.

It’s Not Quite Ready Syndrome
Key Indicators: When you continue to plan and upgrade something for a significant amount of time, thereby pushing off any revenue gains.

Recommended Treatment: Set deadlines for completion. Keep to those deadlines. Add an accountability structure. Remember that you can continue to upgrade.

My Family’s Needs Are All that Matters Syndrome
Key Indicators: You are consistently using 30 percent or more of the time you decided was for business to instead support others in non-emergency situations, simply because they ask.

Recommended Treatment: Make your needs known and counter requests with what will work for you. Look for solutions that can free up some of your time. Ask if there is anyone else who can do some things for you. Get more support.

By becoming aware of any of these syndromes that have previously gone undetected and beginning treatment you will see an improvement of the overall condition of your business.
